"Live your life like you're born for the giving" hit me hard. It really is that simple.
Exactly what I needed to hear today. I've been struggling with the idea of legacy, of impact, of optimal time usage and that struggle has immobilized me. The suggestion that we can let that go and just give is such freedom.
I can not tell you how much I love the two of you. The video had my heart overflowing as well as my eyes. Thank you for blessing our community with your kindness and everythingthat is you.
I wish to be remembered for my love. In the face of adversity, in the expansive darkness, there was always love. Love in all its many iterations can change the world.
When I remember you, both gentle and kind will come to mind. You exude them. Your words speak to me, often like a gentle breeze through the caverns in my soul. Often finding me at the perfect moment. You inspire me to find my own words. To get in touch with my own inner wealth. A gift I am incredibly thankful for.
I have no doubt you will Angel, no doubt at all. Thank you beyond thank you for your kind words, I hope you know what they mean to me. That it is seen. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful piece of writing, thank you. And your Under the Big Sky episode is just gorgeous. The love that you two have for each other is itself a legacy. With legacy I often think of the Howard Thurmand quote about not asking what the world needs, but asking, what makes me come alive, and then do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive. I see you and Sarah doing exactly that, and it is a beautiful gift to the world. Thank you. And hey, I live a mile away from Gonzaga University! : )
You're amazing, and I appreciate you so much. I LOVE the idea of doing what makes you come to life. That's stunning. And if you're on campus ever, say hi to my sister Rian!
Oh, I loved this! So much here in today’s writing – I had to listen to it three times. Tyler, I am sure that you will be remembered for giving all you had and I can’t imagine anyone not liking you. I, too, love Signal Fire, because you ask these thought-provoking questions. I don’t think that anybody will remember me for grand gestures, but I hope that, as you said, when someone says my name, that a good feeling washes over them. So many lessons in what you said today. I know I’m going to listen to this again a few times more to try to absorb the wisdom of them all.
I truly believe that the most important thing anyone can be is kind. And I can’t think of any people who demonstrate kindness more beautifully than you and Sarah. Your legacy will be the way you both make every life you touch better for having known you both.
And next to the words “gentle” and “kind” were lovely pencil sketches of you and Sarah to show examples of who personifies these words best...
You are magical, TKG!
(PS...my girlfriend is headed to Lincoln later this week, I told her if she was anywhere near Helena to keep her eyes and ears out for you - told her it would the experience of her entire trip!)
Her dad splits time between Lincoln and Great Falls so she is gonna go catch up with him...
Said she was going to Glacier National for a few days...I was supposed to be stowing away in her luggage but my work says otherwise - so I’ll stay in Oklahoma and create wonder with the folks I instruct 🪄 ✨
I have lost my dad, my nephew, my sister, and my mom. My parents didn't do everything right, save this: teaching us the importance of legacy.
I cling to every picture, every written word, because now that they are gone, it's all I have left, and when I read their words or look at their pictures, I can still hear their voice. I have children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces & nephews and I am going to leave them with words and images, so they have something to cling to in the darkness of my absence.
Tyler your words and love for Sarah is a BEAUTIFUL legacy. And those are just the two things I can think of off the top of my head.
For all your losses, I am so very sorry Heather. So truly very sorry. I hope you know, those who leave us, never really do. They are here, right next to us, carried by the way we live our lives. They see what we don't show.
Just sitting here crying at my desk! Oh man. This one is so incredibly beautiful. And congrats on that documentary episode!! What a wonderful telling of your story. As a filmmaker, I was extra excited about it!
Your legacy will certainly live on in all of us. In every soul you have touched with your words. The words of a poet will live on forever. Thank you for leading the chase. ;)
This resonates. My fave SF to date.
Wow. Thank you, that is huge.

Please, please let that go. Just be kind, that's all. :)

We love you the very same. I hope you know this.

Laura you are so sweet. This means worlds. Already that good feeling washes over me, so you're so very well on your way. Know this.

I could not agree more. Thank you Heather, for being here, and always being such a light.
Checked the dictionary on my desk...

Adam, you f'ing rock. As usual. And YES! If she makes her way near Helena, tell her to say Hello! What is bringing her to Lincoln?!

Heroic choice sir. Should you find yourself here, you know who to call.

Ahh Taylor, apologies for the tears. Thank you, for chasing the chaser. What a group we've built.
Do not ever apologize! You bring out the best tears!
I think it’s about time you and Sarah scratched Australia off your map!!!
