This community is on my list of things I am grateful for! I don’t share it out with my people I cross paths with day to day but I will be better as spreading the goodness. Thank you Tyler and everyone for being you!
This is beautiful and inspired me to write a beautiful poem today. Thankful for you, for all I have now, and everything I’ve survived that brought me here.
OK, I'm with you, but only because you said we should all try to be a little more noble. LOL. It's a tall order sometimes, to be grateful for suffering. I can honestly say I am not yet grateful for all of my suffering. I have a sincere gratitude practice, but there are some things that I just can't muster gratitude for yet. But I'll keep trying. Maybe I'll get there some day.
I agree with Jen. Isn’t aversion a natural response to things that hurt us, a survival instinct? I think that if I could feel gratefulness for all things, good and bad, I would truly be at peace. Maybe this mindset is something we should strive for. It is ultimate acceptance: of our own mistakes-the things perhaps we could have controlled- and of the happenstance of life.
I think it's just the striving that matters, just that. We can always strive, we can hope, we can work, we can seek peace, for ourselves, for everyone.
This one was a beauty. Wow. I'm a little late in reading it, but the message still hits me so deep today.
"To love your life for all it encompasses, the joy to the delicious sorrow, is to be alive truly. It’s the whole of it that constitutes a life well-lived, and all we learn of peace comes from all we endure from war. There are a million wars we fight to stay afloat."
YES. I need this reminder daily. I love how well you craft the human experience into words that touch us. Thank you.

I wish I had the words for how thankful I am for this community! Thank YOU for being part of this place, for making it so rich.
Wow. Just... wow. Your word craft is sublime.
This is honestly the best compliment ever. Truly.

Ahhh Can we read the poem!?
Answered Prayer by Stacy H.
I sit here wondering how it is that the answer came before the prayer
Or is it me who is the answer to yours
How did I miss it, you standing by my side as I asked for answers
And then it hits me
You are not just the answer to this latest plea of mine
You are the reason my body kept going
When my soul begged to break free from the chains of this earth
When I cried out into the unknown
“If I can’t die then you better make it worth it”
My soul knew that you were coming
That you were right around the corner
Even though I wasn’t ready
Fate knew we needed each other
And because of this, I kept going
Even when I had no reason or want to
And when my soul felt yours, I knew I was home

You don't have to be grateful yet, not yet. In time it will come, in time it sneaks in. I will be here when you arrive. Smiling, of course.
aw thanks. : ) that tips the scales a bit.

What a beautiful compliment. I don't feel worthy, but I'll keep trying to live up to it.
