Little Bits Of Light

If all went well, we made it home at 2am last night, after an exhausting day of travel from England to Helena. If it didn’t go well, I’m waking up in an airport hotel hoping to catch a flight home sometime today. Either way, eventually we’ll be ok and feel rested again. :)

I really, really want to take this place to the next level, but I can only do so with your help. This Signal Fire takes up so much of my time, emotional energy, and love, but I’m only able to do it when not doing my other gigs. You joining us here will help make THIS my main gig, and I would love that more than all things put together. You can help, here’s how::

Here’s the scoop, kids:

1. The Sphere Is Freaking People Out - Have you seen the massive sphere built in Las Vegas? The one covered in all the screens that looks seamless and alien and impressive? Well some of the things they’re doing with it are freaking people out and I’m here for it. My favorite, this giant emoji, scaring people for fun.

2. Honda's New e-Scooter is Suitcase Sized - We all need more efficient and less climate damaging ways to get around and Honda is doing something that might just help. What if you had an e-scooter that got 12 miles per charge, and could take you at 15mph? Rad. Weighs about the same as a carry-on suitcase too, meaning you can bring it anywhere. I’m in.

3. Pig Kidney in Human Body - Yep, it’s working, yep, it’s amazing, and yep, science is proving that one day, we’ll all be fueled by animal parts when we’re clinging to life and youth at 163 years old. What a place.

4. The Neuroscience of Beauty - I’m intrigued by what the human mind finds beautiful, and I am always thinking how strange its objectivity is. This article dives into the actual science of beauty, and how our brains shape our views on it. Golden ratio, etc. etc. etc. What I wanna know is, what do YOU find beautiful?

5. Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event - This song feels desperate and manic and epic and clinging and hopeful and I don’t know what else, but it just feels. It’s an old one, but the way he sings it, man, you feel it. When he sings “You just have to see her/You just have to see her/You know that she'll break you in two,” you feel it. Big.
