Yesterday, dear friends, was Lady Gregson and I’d 4th anniversary. Hard to believe that 4 years ago, we were standing in the rain in Scotland, saying vows, crying a lot, and wandering off into the mist. Today, we’re doing the same thing, well the mist-wandering, as if all is well, we’re in the middle of England. Weird life this. Weird.
I really, really want to take this place to the next level, but I can only do so with your help. This Signal Fire takes up so much of my time, emotional energy, and love, but I’m only able to do it when not doing my other gigs. Most Overrated Tourist Traps On Earth - Speaking of traveling, which we’re doing right now, this list has some of the most criminally over-rated tourist traps (according to the people reviewing them) on earth. Apparently there’s a difference between a tourist Trap and a tourist Attraction…the number one most overrated tourist Attraction, was Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR. I agree.
Beckham Documentary Trailer - We’re in England, and there’s hardly anyone more famous over here, besides the Queen, than ol’ David Beckham. This documentary looks rad, as have all the previous ones they produce. I’ll watch. You bet your buns I’ll watch.
5 Tips To Stop Being Distracted - I don’t suffer from this, my Autism weirdly helps me avoid it and just do what needs done. Some people *ahem*Lady Gregson*ahem* are not that way. Here are 5 things we can do to stop being distracted all the time. Maybe some will help?
Modern Girl by Bleachers - Music sometimes should just be FUN, and this is that. Not everything they make is a hit, but sometimes it’s just rad to sit back and let the production wash over you.
A Pandemic Hobby Changed His Life - I love reading stories like this, random stories that show how it’s not all shit out there, how sometimes life can take surprising turns and make things Better. This dude made miniature models of random crap that is in our lives, and ended up making a fortune doing so. Beautiful art of things no-one usually calls beautiful, and dammit, that’s amazing. Yup, Voodoo is not to be trusted for delicious, one of a kind donuts. As a former resident of Portland, Oregon for 9 years, Blue Star is the place in that city for the goods. I would add Mount Rushmore to the list of attractions as well...my son and I stopped there on a roadtrip, only because we were in the area. We paid to get in, walked up to see the monument which took five minutes, and then the kid summed it up by looking at me and saying, "Well, that wasn't as big or exciting as I'd hoped. Can we go now?" I think anytime one goes out of the way for something extraordinary, it should take one's breath away.
Also, as a heavy international soccer family, my son insisted we watch Beckham as soon as it came out. You will not be disappointed...the documentary really touches on Beckham's humanity and the unreal shit he had to endure for his career.
