great imagery. did you ever hear the song "White As Snow" by U2 on their 2009 album "No Line on the Horizon." your poem reminds me of the imagery that comes to mind with that song. after my divorce/separation in 2009, this album was in my car and I listened to this song about 400 times. it's a barren song about a desert snow sort of covered in scratches. i like, the idea of the crimson stains on the snow, the stark contrast, the permanence, the mess.

Love love love this! ❤️ Reminds me so much of Brenee Brown's work with vulnerability and shame. Also coming to mind is a quote from a Dermot Kennedy song, "Take your heart out of your holster". There's a lot to be said for leading with the heart.
