A skill I feel is far too uncultivated in this hustle-bustle world we’ve all somehow silently agreed to participate in, is the ability to calm ourselves down when stressed out, when overwhelmed, when desperately trying to process the world around us. As an Autistic adult who was diagnosed late, the overstimulationness (not a word) has been something that has plagued me all my damn life, so I’ve had to learn tricks to slow myself down when things get too swift.
