There are more holidays than we speak of often in this little country of ours, more from more cultures, and sometimes it’s fun to honor them, to shine a little light on their beliefs. Imbolc, is one such holiday, and it’s a worthy one of noticing. Imbolc is a pagan holiday that is traditionally celebrated from February 1st to 2nd. It’s based on ancient Celtic traditions, and known as the halfway point between winter solstice and the spring equinox. Some call it Saint Brigid’s Day, but I’ve always loved the name Imbolc, and dammit, I’m sticking with it. As with most pagan traditions and holidays, they highlight and herald in a change of seasons, in this case, Spring.
While it ain’t feeling particularly Springy here, still, we’re gonna stick with the theme today. Let’s go…
