I spent the beginning of this month in New Orleans. It was amazing. All the decorations for Halloween were over the top. I’ve added Sleepy Hollow to my list of places to be on All Hallows’ Eve as well as New Orleans. Christmas has always been my favorite with Halloween a close second and I’m a January baby. This year, I’ve made dressing in costume a goal for various events since we were robbed of Halloween last year. I’m a bit of a ghosty so I try to keep it in my heart year round.

Thank you for your words that cheer or tear me, depending on the day. One grouping of them will be a tattoo soon.

Much love

Autumn all the way! 🍁 I was born in the summer (because I was born in the Southern Hemisphere) but because of my adopted country, enjoy my birthday in the winter now. So, I don’t see the correlation to birthdays and favorite seasons. Autumn just speaks to my soul. 🧡

It occurs to me to recommend Hermann Hesse’s book of poetry, The Seasons of the Soul…a book of wisdom for all seasons and the souls that love each. ❤️

Oooh, I've read other Hesse, but not this! Thank you!

Autumn is the time I miss the mainland and my hometown, I miss the turning of the seasons. Out here there is only one real season so it can be hard to get used to. I shouldn't complain, but autumn has always had my heart. It reminds me of the constant march of time and nature.

I'm a June baby but autumn has always been my favourite season. It's also my favourite season to travel - I love walking the cobbestone paths of London and Scotland especially at this time of year :) I hope you can enjoy many autumn moments this month, despite the non-autumn weather!
