Hello Light Chasers, Signal Fire lighters, carriers of the torch and flame. Quick question today for you, and I’m opening this up so EVERYONE can answer.
I’m going forward into 2024’s Signal Fire: The Sunday Editions, and starting to map and plan it all out, and it dawned on me — I want to know what YOU want me to write about. So, here’s your chance to answer this question in the comments below:
What would YOU love to hear my thoughts, viewpoints, ideas, opinions, advice, whatever, on, in some Sunday Editions to come over the year that we’re leaping head-first into? What do YOU think would make fascinating topics to hear a longer form essay on?
I’ve always wanted this place to be one you love coming to, and the Sunday Editions are my most favorite writing I’m getting to do, so, I thought this would be a good chance to crowd source and figure out what would tickle your fancies. Sound off!
Adult Friendships. Diversity of the different lives we all lead. Love of any kind. Spiritual awakenings or deaths. Overcoming fear of the future and unknown. Travel stories.
Grief. I would love to read what you have to say about grief because that seems to be the season I am in. And, while I am sure you have written things about this topic, nothing comes to mind right now.
I'm curious to know how dreams (the ones you have while sleeping) inspire you, in your writing, in your poetry, in your chasing of the light. Also do you have any advice for busy city dwellers on how to stay connected to the natural world, especially species other than humans. And also, what is a helpful way to carry guilt when it's actually really earned? As in, when you realize that your actions have caused harm and maybe it's not so easy to repair? Thank you.
How delightful of you to ask :) How about a little blurb on impermanence ?? How change is inevitable , the only real thing that is guaranteed. As a woman, a motherless daughter, an empty nested single mom, a nurse & a death doula, impermanence surrounds and engulfs us more than we care to realize or acknowledge. How joy & sorrow both enter & exit our lives without permission or forgiveness. So yeah…d.) all of the above
Romance. What it is and isn't … and keeping it alive. Music, and how it effects your life and adds to your writing. Does it help you to write? What inspires you and how we might find the glint of inspiration in our own lives. How you feel about the seasons as they arrive. How you cope with travel mishaps since you both travel so much … what do you find the best and worst of travelling? I people watch [I usually travel alone] and meditate 'to the noise around me'. Not sure how to explain that.
I love hearing your views on the depth of things. I love your voice in all senses of the word.
What all these lovely people said! Love and romance and keeping it alive in a relationship, staying connected to the natural world, all things unknown and thought-provoking, travel, and poetry.
Maybe it’s just the state of the world we are in but I second (or third or fourth) the call for a forum on grief and loss. Not just death but all kinds of loss.
Also I know Mr. Isakov is number one on your musical charts and you have given us a peek thru The Matchbook of other musical interests- but how does music inform and influence your art?
Let’s talk about the stars and all that vast beyond.
And last but not least - I know your reach goes far - and somewhere in the algorithms, I am sure you can find the data - I’m curious - how many states, countries, continents, galaxies are our fellow Light Chasing, Signal Fire Burning, Flame Carrying siblings from?
General topics I find interesting and am on a journey to learn more about, or things that I always love discussing no matter how much I feel I know or don't know about them!

LOVE, life, *moving forward in the not-so-easy moments of this life.*
Starting points, survival thru the slow ones, living in the mundane.
And of course more lovely poetry, and haikus 💜😍💗

Until then 🤟🏼🙏🏼✌🏼
I would love to hear your thoughts on the afterlife and the signs we receive daily that must come from that kind of magic.

I had this email saved up to share my piece when I got the time so here it is.
I'll echo some of what people already said:
– Life in general (particularly about the imprevisibilities and uncertainties)
– Different types of love
– Grief
– How to keep it fun
– Neurodivergent life in general
