Hurricane
“The clouds are rolling in
up along your chest
the swirling eye of this storm
is building in the gap between
our
touching skin
the first sound of thunder
and the rain begins to fall
soaking and sliding
and dripping onto the bed
your hair drapes onto my face
blown by some silent wind
lightning flashes
through my eyes
and reflects into yours
the waves are crashing
on top of us
and the water begins to
rise
the space between our skin
is closing against the rain
the hand I’m holding now
is pinned against the wall
squeezing through this storm
and bracing against
the wind
the sky is dark and weeping
under our canopy of sheets
this storm our storm
is growing with
every breath we’ve yet to take
there is a hurricane
between our bodies
and you’re the only umbrella
I need
*Re-post, but I don’t care.*
